Idea Industries Limited, a leading subsidiary of Idea Group Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Vocational Training Authority (VTA) of Sri Lanka through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on September 18, 2024. This initiative is aimed at advancing vocational skills development in aluminum fabrication and wood craftsmanship across the country.


The partnership aims to enhance the skills of students undergoing training as aluminum fabricators and wood craftsmen by introducing cutting-edge technology and innovative methodologies for the installation of ceiling and wall panels. Idea Industries Limited, renowned for its expertise in manufacturing ceiling sheets and providing decorative home improvement solutions, brings its industry experience and technological advancements to support the VTA in elevating the quality of training.


This collaboration will not only benefit the students by equipping them with modern skills but will also enhance their employability and open avenues for self-employment. The training will focus on improving their proficiency in the latest installation techniques, making them better prepared to meet the demands of the construction and home improvement sectors.


The MOU was officially signed by S. Kumar Rajapaksha, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka, and Ms. Dilhani Weerarathna, Chief Executive Officer of Idea Industries Limited. The event marks the beginning of a strategic alliance that will contribute to the development of a highly skilled workforce and support Sri Lanka’s vocational training initiatives.
